Jean E. Mooney
Somersworth, NH – Jean E. Mooney, 78 of Somersworth died Sunday May 6, 2012 at her home.
She was born July 2, 1933 in Brookline, Massachusetts the daughter of Clarence and Mary (McPhee) Whitcomb.
Jean loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She was famous for her pumpkin bread and Toll House cookies, which were enjoyed at every family occasion. Jean and her husband, Paul, recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. She will be lovingly remembered for her gentle and patient ways.
She was a communicant of St. Ignatius of Loyola, St. Martin’s Church.
Members of her family include her husband of more than 50 years, Paul Mooney of Somersworth; three daughters, Janice Miller and her husband, Brad, Carol Foley and her husband, Tim and Sheila Canney and her husband, Jamie all of Somersworth. She was a loving Nana to 8 grandchildren, Justin Rouleau and his wife, Sarah, Alex and Ashley Rouleau, Connor and Ethan Foley, Kevin, Jaret and Alissa Canney. She is also survived by one sister, Florence Leahy of North Carolina; several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by three brothers and two sisters.
There are no visiting hours.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday May 11th at 11:00 a.m. at St. Ignatius of Loyola, St. Martin’s Church, 120 Maple St., Somersworth.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in her name may be made to Community Food Pantry, 176 West High St. Somersworth, NH 03878.
