Ruth H. Murray
Dover – Ruth Helena Murray, 95, died Wednesday May 9, 2012 at Langdon Place of Dover.
Born in Dover February 8, 1917 the daughter of William J. and Margaret C. (Hayes) Robinson and has lived here for most of her lifetime. She was a graduate of Dover High School, and the University of New Hampshire, class of 1938 and had attended Boston University.
She was a school teacher having worked both for the City of Dover at Dover High School and Woodman Park School and City of Rochester at Spaulding Junior High School. Along with her late husband she co-founded Red’s Shoe Barn in Dover and Plaistow. She was a member of the Quota International and the Strafford County Retired Teachers Association.
Ruth was a member of the Parish of the Assumption.
The widow of Peter “Red” Murray who died in 1992 she is survived by her son Patrick Murray, grandchildren Shannon Murray and Shane Murray all of Dover and nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband and parents she was predeceased by her brother William Robinson and Sisters Marie Robinson and Margaret Robinson, and her daughter-in-law Nancy Murray.
Friends are invited to call Monday May 14th from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Tasker Funeral Home, 621 Central Ave. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:00 a.m. Tuesday at the Parish of the Assumption, St. Mary Church, corner of Chestnut & Third Sts.. Burial will follow in St. Mary New Cemetery.
