Kanela Poulopoulos

Dover – Kanela “Carla” Poulopoulos, 87, died Thursday May 10, 2012 at Colonial Hill of Rochester Care and Rehabilitation Center.

Born in Dover February 1, 1925 the daughter of Nikitas and Panagota (Demopoulos) Poulopoulos, attended Dover Schools and has lived here all of her life.

She formerly worked at the M & M Bakery and later at Davidson Rubber Co. until her retirement.

Carla enjoyed playing cards with family and friends, was forever cleaning, was an amazing pastry cook and will be remembered for her “paxamathia”.

Kanela was a faithful member of the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church where she was a member of the Young at Heart Club.

She is survived by nieces, Pauline Niblet of Cape Cod, MA, Evelyn Tedeschi of Weymouth, MA and her devoted niece, Niki Moutevelis of Dover whom she made her home; many generations of nieces and nephews; her God-Child Gail Yagle of Amesbury, MA; and many dear friends including Frank and Marcia Garafano.

In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her siblings Aristomenis “Tony” Poulopoulos, Georgia “Trent” Triandafilo, Catherine Moutevelis and Demetria Ladakos and her niece Theani Allard.

Visiting hours will be Sunday from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. at the Tasker Funeral Home, 621 Central Ave., Dover. The Trisagion will be at 2:00 p.m.

The funeral will be Monday at 11:00 a.m. at the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church 93 Locust St., Dover. Burial will follow in the Annunciation Cemetery. Memorials in her name may be made to the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church, 93 Locust St., Dover, NH 03820.
