Elaine Watters

Somersworth – Elaine M. Watters, 84, died Saturday May 12, 2012 at the Wentworth-Douglass Hospital.

Born in South Berwick, ME July 21, 1927 the daughter of Joseph W. and Gladys E. (Goodwin) Sarette. She grew up and attended schools in South Berwick. She was a longtime resident of Berwick, ME prior to moving to Somersworth several years ago.

Prior to her retirement she was an inspector at the General Electric Co. in Somersworth.

Elaine was a communicant of Our Lady of Peace Church, Berwick.

The widow of James E. Watters who died in 2000, she is survived by three daughters Victoria Gourdouros and husband Bruce of Lebanon, ME, Donna Bouchard and husband Roger of South Berwick, ME, Janis Gelinas of North Berwick, ME, three sons James Watters, Jr. and wife Barbara of North Berwick, ME, Gary Watters and wife Peggy Ann of Harrisburg, PA and William Watters and wife Susan of North Berwick, ME, fourteen grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren, a brother Joseph “Sammy” Sarette and wife Leona of Dover and nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband she was predeceased by a grandson W. Scott Sanborn.

Friends are invited to call Tuesday May 15, 2012 2 to 4 and 5 to 7 at McIntire-McCooey Funeral Home, 301 Main St., South Berwick.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday May 16 2012 at 10 am at Our Lady of the Angels Parish, Our Lady of Peace Church, Berwick, ME. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery.

Memorials in her name may be made to the South Berwick Senior Center 71 Norton St, South Berwick, ME 03908.
