Robert R. J. Plante
Dover-Robert R. J. Plante, 85, of Charles Street passed away peacefully at Hyder Family Hospice House on Monday July 2, 2012 with family at his side.
Born March 4, 1927, in Dover, was the son of the late Victor Plante and Rose Alma (Dumais) Plante.
Bob attended the Dover schools, served in the Merchant Marines in 1945/1946 and the Korean War in 1951/1952. He was employed at Spaulding Fiber/ Bay Head Products until his retirement in 1988.
He was an avid golfer and member of the Sunnydale Golf Club. He was a member of the Dover Moose Lodge and enjoyed gardening, traveling with the senior citizens, dancing with his wife and spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his wife of 57 years, Ruth E. (Friars) Plante, six sisters, Eva Richard, Blandine Boulanger, Jeannette Roussell, Rita Roberts, Irene Woods and Blanche Oates and one brother, Alphonse Plante.
Survivors include his daughter, Lisa M. Plante of Rochester, his sons, Kevin R. Plante and his wife, Diane, of Dover; Tracy G. Plante and his wife, Julie, of Berwick, Maine, and Brenden S. Plante and his wife, Cathy, of Dover, five grandchildren, Kerri, Jeremy, Joshua, Jared and Christopher and two great grandchildren, Hannah and Elizabeth, a brother-in-law, Edwin Roberts of Monona, Iowa , as well as, many nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be at the Tasker Funeral Home, 621 Central Avenue, Dover, NH on Thursday July 5, 2012 from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm. A funeral service will be held at St. Thomas Episcopal Church, 5 Hale Street, Dover on Friday at 11 am. Burial will be followed at Pine Hill Cemetery.
