William J. Glovinski

William J. Glovinski

Rollinsford – William J. Glovinski, 80, passed away peacefully on Monday, August 20, 2012 at Hyder Family Hospice House in Dover after a period of failing health.

Bill was born in Rollinsford, December 26, 1931, the son of Stanley and Mary (Pisz) Glovinski and has lived here all of his lifetime.

Bill was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather who enjoyed simple pleasures--TV sports, fishing, drives to the beach and family get-togethers. He always had a hearty appetite. He took great pride in his home and could always be found happily working in his yard or garage.

Bill was a finish carpenter by trade, and built not only his home and many of its furnishings but also worked tirelessly to help his children in building, remodeling and furnishing their homes. Bill worked for his brother Edward until his death, then for F.L. Malone Contractors, finally retiring in his seventies. He was a kind and selfless man, always willing to help others.

Bill was a devout Catholic and member of St. Mary Church in Rollinsford.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years Doris M. (Renaud) Glovinski, a son Gary W. Glovinski and his wife May of Berwick, ME, a daughter Susan B. (Glovinski) Caron and husband William of Cape Elizabeth, ME, four grandchildren Lucas W. Caron and his wife Jennifer of South Portland, ME, Carly B. Glovinski of Dover, NH, Kayla A. Glovinski of Berwick, ME, and Alex J. Caron of Washington D.C.; a great granddaughter Savannah G. Caron of South Portland, ME; and brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents he was predeceased by five siblings, Sophie Roche, Antonia Chase, Joseph, Stella Therrien and Edward.

Calling hours will be held on Friday August 24, 2012 from 9:45am to 10:45 am at the McIntire McCooey Funeral Home 301 Main St. South Berwick ME. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11am on the same day at St. Mary’s Church, Rollinsford. Burial will follow at New Town Cemetery.
