Dover – Denise A. Gelinas, 60, of Back River Rd. died Sunday September 9, 2012 at the Wentworth Douglass Hospital.

She was born January 1, 1952 in Acushnet, MA the daughter of Gerald and Blanche (Lavoie) Chevalier.

Denise grew up in New Bedford MA, where she worked at Knapps Shoes and Acushnet Company. She then left to follow her husband's career in the Navy. She came to settle down in New Hampshire where she worked as the manager at Burger King for many years. She was a professional bingo player and avid Red Sox’s fan.

She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother. She is survived by her husband of 42 years Daniel Gelinas of Dover, a son Maurice “Andy” Gelinas and his wife Amy of Barrington, a daughter Jennifer Byron and her husband Robert of Gonic, seven brothers and sisters, five grandchildren Katelyn, Daniel, Andrew, Alison & Joseph, two great grandchildren Lindsey, Jacobey, and her godfather Norman Chevalier of New Bedford, MA and many nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be Friday 6 to 8 at the Tasker Funeral Home 621 Central Ave Dover. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:00 AM Saturday at the Parish of Assumption, St. Joseph Church 150 Central Ave. Dover.
