Douglas W. Ham

Durham – Douglas W. Ham, 41, of Bunker Lane died Monday November 12, 2012 at the Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston.

Born in Dover December 12, 1970 the son of Robert Sterling and Jacqueline Theresa (Shaltrey) Ham. Doug received his special education certificate from Somersworth High School.

For most of his adult life he was employed by Community Partners. He greatly enjoyed being around paramedics, firemen, engineers and conductors. He was known for his love of ambulances, fire engines and train engines from North Conway to Portsmouth. His favorite engine was number 47 steam engine in North Conway.

Doug lived most of his adult life in the Dover area and will be remembered by many for his caring and his humor. To those of us who listened, we learned from him what was important in life, true friendship and what unconditional love was all about. He was always and will forever be Mom and Dad’s sunshine.

His father Robert died March 3, 2010, his mother Jacqueline died January 6, 2012 and he is survived by his cousins Michael Strout and his wife Mary Beth and their family of Waterford, CT. and Patricia Andrews and her husband Greg and their family of Steep Falls, ME.
