Sophia Karoutas

Dover – Sophia Karoutas, 91 of Rogers St. Thursday died November 15, 2012 at Exeter on Hampton, Exeter, surrounded by her family, after a period of failing health.

Born in Pentalofos, Kozani, Greece March 20, 1921 the daughter of Christos and Evangalia (Barlagianni) Gatzoulis. She was a former resident of Manchester prior to moving here.

She was a member of the Pentalofos Society and enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was a former employee of Pandora in Manchester.

The widow of Vassilios Karoutas she is survived by a son George Karoutas and his wife Haido of Montreal, Canada, two daughters Nina Gatzoulis and her husband Vassilios and Christina Veziris and her husband Kosmas all of Dover, a sister Vassiliki Efthimiou of Greece, six grandchildren Vassilios, Chris and Timmy Karoutas, Johanna Kossifidis, Alexandra Demos and Fay Dolleman and 9 great-grandchildren.

Friends are invited to call Sunday November 18th from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the Tasker Funeral Home, 621 Central Ave. with the Trisagion Service at 5:30 p.m. by Rev. Costin Popescu.

Funeral services and burial will be held in her home town in Greece.
