Walter Sherman “Bud” Prescott
Port Orange, FL- Walter Sherman “Bud” Prescott, 93, formally of Dover, passed away on Thursday November 29, 2012 at the Halifax Medical Center in Daytona Beach, Florida. He was born on September 19, 1919, to George S. and Edith May (Locke) Prescott in Dover, NH, and lived most of his life in Dover. In 1944 he married Beatrice Spencer who died in 2005. They enjoyed spending time at their summer camp, traveling around the world, and dancing. He was an avid reader and enjoyed flying his plane. He was employed at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard and the Internal Revenue Service in Andover MA., and was a proud veteran of the Naval Reserve Seabees. After his retirement he spent his winters in Zephyrhills, Fl. before moving to Port Orange, Florida.
Bud is survived by his three children; daughter Carol and husband Kenneth Witham; daughter Marilyn and husband Paul Cassily; and son Walter S. Prescott, Jr. and wife Kendel; six grandsons, Sean, Christopher, Keith, Kevin, Adam and Aaron; and four great grandchildren. Also surviving is his sister, Doris Cason of Dover, NH.
Bud is preceded in death by his wife Beatrice; and brothers Franklin and Donald.
Calling hours will be held on Sunday December 9, 2012 from 4-7pm at the Tasker Funeral Home 621 Central Ave Dover, NH. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Joseph’s Church on Monday December 10 at 10am. Burial will follow at Pine Hill Cemetery.
