William Joseph Nebesky

William J. Nebesky Dover – William J. Nebesky, 102, of 183 Mt. Vernon St. died Wednesday December 4, 2012 at Hyder Family Hospice House.

He was born in Peekskill, NY September 18, 1910, the son of Joseph and Josephine (Ardowski) Nebesky. He grew up in Amesbury, MA. He was a graduate of Amesbury High School and Bentley College.

He came to Dover in 1936 and was treasurer of the M & M Bakery until 1956. He began working as an agent for Prudential Insurance Co. in 1956 and earned the CLU designation. He retired in 1975 and continued as agent emeritus until January 1998.

Bill was a member of the Cochecho Country Club from 1937 to 1958 and served as director and treasurer. He was also past president of the Dover Kiwanis Club.

He was a communicant of St. Mary’s Church.

He is survived by a son Daniel W. Nebesky of Dover and a daughter Sharon L. Ames and husband Peter of Greenville, RI, four grandchildren Peggy Ames, Daniel J. Nebesky, Morningstar Lopresti and Sundance Stureman , as well as several great grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his wife Louise Wyeth Nebesky who died in 2007, a daughter Beth Stureman who died this past June, a sister Alice Hanson and two brothers Edward Nebesky and Louis Nebesky.

Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in Bartlett Cemetery, Amesbury, MA.
